Concieved while Will was suffering from an unfortunate bout of flu in Chamonix during March 2007, the London Singlespeed Society was set up by a like minded group of individuals who wanted somewhere to geek out about singlespeed and fixed wheel bikes and riding them in London, and to make some cool t-shirts and stickers that would attract wry smiles from those in the know and confused looks from those who are not.

Hooked on the simplicity of bikes without dérailleurs, and on riding them around the greatest city in the world, we want to provide a place for people who think the same as us to come together and share their knowledge, have some fun and generally make fun of those who think they need a gear cassette.

As much as we love our city we also sometimes escape the smoke and ride singlespeed mountain bikes around in the woods – it’s a filthy habit but one that’s hard to kick and every bit as fun as riding fixed on road.
